The High Holy Days are almost upon us. It’s a time when Jews reflect on the past year and create goals for the coming year. As the premier Jewish Business Networking organization, JNET is beginning the year by welcoming new leaders into our fold.

New Leaders & Transitions
Joel Wolk, Realtor at Keller Williams, has accepted the position as president of the Thousand Oaks Chapter. We look forward to what he and his team have in store for us in the next year. The JNET Board would like to thank Steve Marche, President of Great American Funding, for his leadership and dedication to the chapter; we are incredibly grateful to him for a job well done!

Following the High Holidays, Asher Levin, of Asher Levin Law, will be joining the JNET National Board of Directors. Asher, who has served as president of the JNET Tarzana PM chapter since its inception close to six years ago, has been a master at consistently orchestrating our largest meeting with aplomb. He will be an excellent addition to our hardworking volunteer board dream team.

It Takes a Village of JNET Leaders

Sandy Rosenholz, of Senior Resources, Inc., will demonstrate his vast knowledge of networking and relationship-building as the President of the Tarzana PM Chapter. He has formed a robust leadership team and will share his plans at the November meeting.

The Board thanks Prissi Cohen, ProPatient Advocacy, for starting what is now the Culver City Chapter. She met every challenge with grace, and her contributions created a strong foundation on which to continue to build a vibrant chapter. Nancy Spear, of Nancy’s Tech Help for Older Adults, is the new chapter president. Her people and organizational skills will be significant in making her chapter leadership a success.

Each JNET chapter president possesses exemplary talents and unique perspectives that establish the tone and “culture” of the 11 chapter meetings. We value them all and could not have a JNET without them. We would also like to recognize the following:

  • Bruce Spiegel, The Jewelry Factory, for the entertaining atmosphere – Valley Village Chapter
  • Gary Weinzimer, Melaleuca, for music and innovation – West Hills Chapter
  • Lisa Aminnia, the Law Office of Lisa Aminnia, for educational enlightenment through structure and games – Woodland Hills Chapter
  • Kathleen Goldner, Shalev Senior Living, for professional flair with an ocean breeze – Pacific Palisades Chapter
  • Matthew Mishory, Iconoclastic Media, for creative, youthful exuberance – Hollywood Chapter
  • Eran Comforty, Comforty Coaching, for promoting the know-how in a networking community – South Bay Chapter
  • Phil Blum, Capstone Partners Financial Services, for adapting and molding the intimate chapter experience – Tarzana AM Chapter
  • Barry Sikov, Bel Air Insurance Services, for adding great value to an early morning meeting – Westwood Chapter

On behalf of the JNET Board of Directors, thank you to all our hardworking leadership teams for contributing your time and energy to JNET and sustaining the Jewish tradition of supporting the success of each other and of our community.

JNET in the News

JNET’s “How Jews Schmooze” ad appeared in the September 8 issue of the Jewish Journal, and will run again in the November 17 issue. Over the past several years, our advertisement in the Journal has helped us increase our membership and our recognition in the community. Many thanks to JNET Board Member Judy Robitschek of robi-chex graphic designplus signproduction who continues to provide us with effective, eye-catching graphic design, and to Dana Bigman, who is our point-person for the Journal.

Involvement Opportunities

Volunteering is the best way to develop deeper relationships, get known by JNET’s leaders and members and strengthen personal and business connections. Please consider lending a little of your time, energy and expertise to the growth and success of JNET by taking one of the chapter positions available or considering what you can contribute to our organization on the committee or Board level.

If you are interested in serving on a JNET committee, please contact Judi Lirman, Chair of the Nominating Committee, at 818-939-7098 or JudiMFT@gmail.com.

Speaker Opportunities

Under JNET's rules and regulations, members can speak at a chapter meeting twice a year (every 181 days) but not at the same chapter in the same calendar year. During the last several months, the JNET Board has given special dispensation to the Thousand Oaks, Tarzana AM and South Bay chapters, allowing speakers at these chapters to give presentations without it counting against the twice a year rule. This will last through December 2017, after which speakers at these chapters will adhere to the two times a year rule. For more information, contact South Bay President Eran Conforty at SouthBay@jnetonline.org, Tarzana AM President Phil Blum at TarzanaAM@jnetonline.org or Thousand Oaks President Joel Wolk at ThousandOaks@jnetonline.org.

If you have any other questions, please contact Judi Lirman, JNET Vice Chair, at 818-939-7098 or JudiMFT@gmail.com.
